New Stuff

Yes dear people, it's that time again: time to replace some old and try out something new. As splashes tend to do, mine cracked after a long period of good use, so I wanted to replace it with exactly the same type (being a 10" Meinl Soundcaster Custom), as it proved to play nice and sound good.
Then my little stack of old splashes also needed replacing. During recordings I felt that the sound is a bit too dry and snappy and over all too soft, compared to my other cymbals. As I always was a sucker for china like noisy metal thingies, I decided to try out a 10" Meinl Generation-X Filter China. I'll be receiving them in a couple of days and I'm dying to check out how they will work out in the rehearsal room! (more…)

I'm starting with writing some new material. This will be solo-stuff, so it's not going to be Obsidian related. I'm planning to write some tracks that showcase my personal approach to drumming and melody as it developed in the past years. I've been playing with some ideas for a long time and it just feels like the right time to start.
