New Cymbals!
[23/05/2008 @ 14:30 | Drums ]Thanks to the kind people at Meinl (Norbert and Kurt – tnx a LOT!!!) I added two new babies to my set-up this past week: a 20" Meinl Soundcaster Custom Powerful Ride and a 16" Mb8 China.
The ride sounds absolutely brilliant – and you can take that very literally! It gives me a lot more possibilities while playing because it has a very jazzy sizzle when played on the bow, while the bell is very sharp and penetrating.
The Mb8 china has beautiful overtones and is a real pleasure to listen to, although you might think that very hard with a china cymbal. The old Classics china has moved over to the left in my 16" stack together with a 15" nameless bottom hi-hat. The sound is very loud, trashy and just like a stack should be!
All in all my sound has improved a lot with this change in setup and I can't wait to let you hear what it sounds like!
